Rosemary Humphreys Hardee was the wife of John Richardson Hardee, Jr. who was the son of John Richardson Hardee, Sr. and his first wife, Annie Hall Davis Hardee.

ROSEMARY H. HARDEE

Rosemary Humphreys Hardee, 85, of Brownsville, died Sunday at Valley Baptist Medical Center in Harlingen.
A native of Fernandina Beach, Fla. and daughter of the late Dr. David Granville Humphreys and Eva Henry Humphreys, she married John Richardson Hardee, Jr., who preceded her in death in 1958, on June 30, 1925. In 1950, she moved to Brownsville, where her husband was a pioneer in the shrimping industry and well known in the local and national shrimping organizations.
During her 38 years in Brownsville, she was a dedicated member of the First Presbyterian Church, serving as a Sunday school teacher and as a leader in the Presbyterian Women. She was an active member of Chapter BU of the PEO Sisterhood, the Tuesday Bridge Club, the Wednesday Study Clulb and of the Women's Auxiliary of Mercy Hospital.
Survivors include a daughter, Rosemary Hardee Shiflet of San Benito, a son, John Richardson Hardee III of St. Simons Island, Calif.; a sister, Ruth Humphreys Burgess of Fernandina Beach, Fla., two grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Darling-Mouser Funeral Home Chapel, 945 Palm Blvd.
Memorial services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the First Presbyterian Church with the Rev. David Bybee officiating with burial to be held on Wednesday at Bosque Bella Cemetery in Fernandina Beach under the direction of Oxley-Heard Mortuary of Fernandina Beach.
Friends of the family are making memorial donations to the Memorial Fund of the First Presbyterian Church, Brownsville.
